Weddings, naming ceremonies, birthdays, church programs, office parties — Calabar Pot runs a dedicated catering menu built for the size of a real West African gathering, not a lunch tray.
Demo preview — this form does not send yet. On launch it routes straight to the Calabar Pot team.
Ema Ajakaiye grew up near Calabar, in southern Nigeria, cooking for a family of sixteen on her father's farm. In 2021, she and her husband Steve opened Calabar Pot — at the time, Frisco didn't have another African restaurant.
"They like the taste, and it's different." — Ema Ajakaiye, on why Frisco took to the food
Today the dining room draws a genuinely mixed crowd — African, white, Hispanic, Asian regulars — for the same reason: the soups are made the way Ema's family always made them, not adjusted for anyone.
